Why We Are Losing Athleticism

"The mind body connection", the phrase has been around for some time. Simply stated, the mind can have a powerful impact on the health and function of the body. Certainly the inverse is true as well, our physical fitness (athleticism) can effect our thinking. Many studies are out right now linking the benefits of physical activity to reversing or slowing down the effects of aging on the mind, specifically related to dementia and Alzheimers.

As parents, teachers, coaches and folks in the fitness and rehab services, we owe it the future generations to start putting a higher value on physical culture.
